CANCELLED- Sewing Skills: Wiksten Baby + Toddler Pants
Fridays, August 27, + September 3, 6-8 pm $60
Class Description: The comfort and ease of these elastic waist pants make them perfect for active babies and toddlers. They’re cuffed slightly long so that they can be un-cuffed as the child grows. Beautiful French seams lend the pants an heirloom quality, and their simple construction makes them a breeze to sew. Pair them with Hyphen baby sweater class for the ultimate layette gift!
Perfect for the very beginner sewist, we’ll go over every step from sizes to hemming in this class. Choose a light to medium weight fabric - chambray or quilt-weight cotton recommended - and if possible pick a print with a clear right side / wrong side for your first pants.
For the first class, we’ll be cutting out the pattern, cutting out the fabric, prepping to sew, answering machine setup questions and practicing French and regular seams. Pants sewing happens in the second class!
- Two 2 hour live sessions

Pre-Registration for the Sarah Cardigan
Saturdays, September 11 - November 13, 10 am- 12 pm, $360
We are planning our fall class schedule, and some details are up in the air! Pre-registration will save your spot in the class, once we are able to confirm all details.
This is planned as an in-person class, dependent on the timing of our classroom renovation (and watching Covid numbers). We may be able to offer class recordings or a hybrid model once we have a chance to test the technology.
The Sarah cardigan is a perfect fall layer, with drop shoulders and large pockets. The pattern uses the Cocoknits method, for a fit tailored to your body. This means a perfect fit in the shoulders and chest, even with a comfy, oversized look. The half-fisherman’s rib gives a very lofty, squishy texture and is good practice for brioche patterns.
This class is best suited to someone who has knit a sweater before and wants to refine fit and learn new techniques, or a confident knitter who can knit and purl, has experience reading a pattern, and is very good at following directions! We will be learning new skills every week!
