The Square Neck Top from Friday Pattern Company is a wardrobe basic that's a great introduction to sewing garments! We'll choose our size, cut our fabric, and sew our seams. We'll learn to sew darts, facings, hems and fit adjustments. Students should be comfortable independently setting up and sewing by machine and understand basic pattern and sewing terms.

We'll start off with a simple garter stitch dishcloth, then learn the techniques to add new colors the second week, then add textured stitches in week 3. This gorgeous hat from Woolly Wormhead features an unusual sideways construction and is a quick project packed with great new techniques that you'll see in many future patterns. This class will cover a provisional cast-on, German short-rows, reading knitting charts, and grafting. Students should be comfortable following knitting patterns with knits, purls, increases and decreases.

Keep growing your sewing skills with a Boxed Zipper Bag! We'll learn to insert a zipper, use fusible interfacing, sew a bag lining, and create boxed corners. Students should be able to set up and thread a machine and sew straight seams while maintaining an accurate seam allowance.
