Greet the impending spring with this modern take on the classic wrap dress from Closet Core Patterns. Easy to dress up or down, this pattern offers multiple skirt and sleeve options, soft pleats, and optional patch pockets. This class is best for intermediate students who have experience sewing garments, and will cover staystitching, facings, french seams, and curved hems as well as length adjustments to bodice and skirt.
Instructor: Shaerie Mead
For the first class, you’ll need your pattern, paper scissors, clear tape and extra paper for pattern adjustments. We’ll also be learning french seams and staystitching, so please have a 1/8 - 1/4 yard scrap fabric with a clear right side/ wrong side and straight edges to practice on. Homework is pinning & cutting fabric, fusing interfacing and stay-stitching the bodice pieces. In the second class, we’ll be constructing the entire bodice. Homework will be sewing the skirt pieces together. The third class will detail the waistband and tie assembly. Homework will be hemming!
Equipment Needed: sewing machine with straight stitch and zig-zag options, iron, ironing board.
