The Hinterland is a timeless summer dress with a fit that is loose, yet shapely, with bust darts, a gathered skirt with pockets, and optional waist ties. We'll be sewing the sleeveless view with a half placket. Students should have experience sewing garments from a pattern. We will work on length and bust adjustments, darts, bias binding, gathering, buttons and buttonholes, and in seam pockets.
For the first class, you’ll need your pattern, paper scissors, clear tape, highlighter, elastic + safety pin, a pencil and extra paper for pattern adjustments. In the second class, we’ll be constructing the bodice, and optional waist ties will be homework. The third class will focus on plackets, buttons and buttonholes. And in the fourth class, we’ll sew pockets and skirts and then sew it all together!
