Sew Your Own Pietra Pants HYBRID

  • Freeman's Creative LLC 2020 Chapel Hill Road #25 Durham, NC, 27707 United States (map)

These stylish trousers combine comfort and polish, with a high waist that's shaped with elastic in the back and slanted hip pockets with an unusual construction. Choose from tapered or wide leg silhouettes to suit your style. This class is suitable for intermediate sewists looking to improve their pants-fitting skills.

Instructor: Shaerie Mead

No machines needed for the first class – we’ll be doing pattern alterations and cutting. So please come with fabric washed & pressed (or if you have fabric questions you may cut pieces before the second class). Easiest fabric for a first pair would be lightweight denim, twill or canvas. More challenging fabric would be linen, linen / rayon or stretch wovens. Lighter bottom weights are appropriate!

A lot of body measurements will happen in our first class, so please wear pants or leggings so we can be accurate! This class is a great intro to pants fitting.

Equipment Needed: sewing machine with zig-zag options. For lengthening/shortening pattern: extra paper and clear tape. We have irons & boards here in the classroom, you will need your own if working from home.
