Learn to create designs on fabric using stitch-resist techniques and indigo dye! Instructor River Takada will cover the history and methods of indigo dyeing and traditional Japanese shibori using hand-stitching. All materials are provided.
Instructor: River Takada
Students will be provided with a yard of cotton lawn, needles, thread, and access to the shared indigo dye bucket. Students may bring a few small additional items. The stitch technique works best on very lightweight fabric (vintage linens, light scarves) and the indigo dye will only bind to natural fibers (cotton, linen, silk, rayon)
