Learn foundational weaving techniques on a frame loom. Basic stitches including tabby, twining, soumak and rya knots. From warping the loom to finishing the weave. Beautiful, unique art and the skills to create more!
Instructor: Jillian Lea
Supply list:
Frame loom, around 12-14 x 16-20 inches
Yarn of at least 3 different colors and textures. Chunkier yarn weaves up faster.
Weaving needle(s)
Weaving comb (hair combs work well for this)
Thin cotton string or twine for warping the loom. White is typically used but colors work as well!
Scissors
A rod for hanging. I like to use driftwood, but other options include wooden dowels, copper rods, knitting needles--anything slightly wider than your weaving that you can hang your project from.
