Students should be comfortable working ribbing in the round and reading patterns; previous sweater experience is helpful.

Worsted weight yarn in 2 colors (or more!) with good contrast

US 6/4.0 mm in 16", 32-40" and DPN (or preferred method for small circumference knitting) for the ribbing

US 7/4.5 mm in 32-40" and DPN (or preferred method for small circumference knitting) for the main body and sleeves

US 8/5.0 mm 24", 32-40" and DPN (or preferred method for small circumference knitting) for the colorwork sections
