Classes will state if they are IN PERSON, VIRTUAL, or HYBRID. Hybrid classes will allow for both in person or remote attendance. You will receive the Zoom link with registration for virtual and hybrid classes.
Please keep vaccinations up-to-date for in-person attendance. At this time, masks are optional inside the classroom; please be mindful of our shared space. Hybrid and virtual classes include a class recording.
Sewing Sessions with Erin
May 5, 12-2 PM $30
Ready to build your skills, try something new, or get out of the house & chat with other sewing folk? Join instructor Erin West for support & guidance in this 2-hour group sewing workshop. Bring a project, ask questions and brainstorm new ideas. Must be comfortable setting up a machine & working independently. Use of our classroom equipment included (machine, iron, scissors, etc) or BYO favorite tools.
Include your project info so the instructor can prepare to best help you.
Intro to Paper Patterns IN PERSON
May 10, 6-8 pm, $30
Looking to expand your sewing skills, but perplexed by paper patterns? Find your measurements, choose your size and learn what to do when you're between sizes, and decipher all the symbols and markings on your pattern! Bring any pattern you'd like to sew and get started on your next project! This class is perfect preparation for any of our garment sewing classes.

**We will not be sewing in this class. No machine required.**
Knit Skills: Upcycled Bag HYBRID
May 11 + 18, 10 am - 12 pm, $60
Learn some new knitting skills while you make a fun summer tote! This class is a great introduction to knitting in the round, basic lace knitting, and has an interesting pinhole cast-on. Students should be comfortable with the knit and purl stitch, and have some experience reading a pattern. Designed for t-shirt yarn, or another bulky or super-bulky substitute.

Materials:
Upcycled Bag pattern (materials fee $5)
Around 6 large t-shirts worth of t-shirt yarn OR
~ 200 g of a bulky weight yarn such as Pacific Bulky OR
Instructor can provide upcycled t-shirt yarn (optional materials fee $15)
US 15/ 10 mm 24" circular needle + DPNs
Crochet hook in a similar size (doesn't need to match exactly)

Lifting a Pattern IN PERSON
May 19, 11 am - 2 pm, $45
Learn to make a pattern from your favorite ready-to-wear garment! We'll learn how to accurately trace garment seams and other details using a pounce wheel, add seam allowances, and create a pattern you can use over and over to duplicate your favorite garments. Students should have previous experience sewing garments from a pattern.

Materials:
Bring 2-3 simple garments to trace, such as knit or woven pullover tops, pull-on pants/shorts/skirts (no buttons or zippers)
We have all basic sewing supplies in the classroom, but you may want to bring your own sewing kit for convenience. We will be using tracing paper and tracing wheels.
Work In Progress Knitting Help IN PERSON
May 10, 17, + 31, 1-3 pm, $30
We've all got a knitting Work In Progress that could use some help! Join an instructor for assistance! Come work on your projects with guidance and support. This is a group class for students who are starting, working on, or need help completing projects. If you have any questions about whether your project is appropriate for this class, please contact the shop with a description.
