November 2024 Classes

Classes will state if they are IN PERSON, VIRTUAL, or HYBRID. Hybrid classes will allow for both in person or remote attendance. You will receive the Zoom link with registration for virtual and hybrid classes.

Please keep vaccinations up-to-date for in-person attendance. At this time, masks are optional inside the classroom; please be mindful of our shared space. Hybrid and virtual classes include a class recording.


Crochet Skills: Amigurumi Mushroom Doll HYBRID CLASS

November 2, 16, + 23, 10 am-12 pm, $95

Grow your crochet skills with the cutest little mushroom doll! We will cover amigurumi construction techniques including magic ring cast-on, common increases and decreases, tracking stitch counts, and assembly. Students should be able to form a crochet chain and work single crochet stitches.

Materials:

Wonderful World of Amigurumi book

Crochet Hook (US B/2.25 mm or US C/2.75)

Three colors of sport weight cotton yarn (Cap, face, body) such as Alba or Pandamonium

Locking stitch markers (wire is best)

Tapestry needle

Stuffing, White yarn, 6 mm eyes, and embellishment will be provided


Sew Your Own: Hinterland Dress IN PERSON CLASS

November 3, 10 + 17, 11 am-2 pm $135

The Hinterland is your new favorite dress! This classic style can be customized for every style and season. We'll cover sewing bust darts, pockets, gathered skirts, set-in sleeves, bias binding, and button plackets. Students should have some experience sewing garments from a pattern. Those with less experience should choose a crisp cotton print or woven. More adventurous students can try a linen or rayon with more drape.

Materials:

Pattern for the Hinterland Dress from Sew Liberated (Paper copy or PDF; we will cut our pattern pieces in class)

Fabric for your size (prewashed)

All purpose thread to match

1/2 yd lightweight fusible woven interfacing (like Shape Flex)

1/2- 5/8" buttons (4-5 for the half placket)

Your working sewing machine (or rent one of ours) with manual and buttonhole attachment

You may want to bring your own basic sewing kit (fabric shears, clear ruler, tape measure, straight pins, seam gauge, seam ripper) but we do have shared tools available for use in the classroom


Knit Skills: Sherbet Fizz Shawl

With 2 sizes and three weight of yarn, you can really customize this pattern!

November 16, 23, + December 7, 1-3 pm $90

Sherbet Fizz is a classic triangle shawl with an engaging mix of lace and garter stitch that can be knit up in two sizes and three weights of yarn. We will cover lace knitting techniques and reading lace charts, as well as a fun picot edge stitch. Students should confidently knit and purl, and have some experience reading patterns.

Sewing Sessions with Erin IN PERSON

November 24, 12-2 pm, $30

Ready to build your skills, try something new, or get out of the house & chat with other sewing folk? Join instructor Erin West for support & guidance in this 2-hour group sewing workshop. Bring a project, ask questions and brainstorm new ideas. Must be comfortable setting up a machine & working independently. Use of our classroom equipment included (machine, iron, scissors, etc) or BYO favorite tools.

Include your project info so the instructor can prepare to best help you.


 

Work In Progress Knitting Help IN PERSON

November 1, 8, 15, + 22, 1-3 pm, $30

We've all got a knitting Work In Progress that could use some help! Join an instructor for assistance! Come work on your projects with guidance and support. This is a group class for students who are starting, working on, or need help completing projects. If you have any questions about whether your project is appropriate for this class, please contact the shop with a description.
