Welcome to Freeman's Creative

Hello! I am excited to welcome you to the website for Freeman's Creative, a craft supply store coming soon to Durham, NC! I'm Amelia, the owner and manager of Freeman's Creative, and I am thrilled to be so close to sharing this long-time dream with all of you.  

When I moved to Durham from New York City, I was looking for community and wanted to join a knitting group to meet new people.  I was surprised that there was no local yarn store, and ended up driving to Carrboro on a regular basis (what's up Knitboro!) to knit in community. After six years in Durham, I feel like I've found my people, but I still want to provide a gathering space, resource center, and excellent shopping experience for knitters, crafters, makers, and creative folks of all types.  

Freeman's Creative is not only a long-time dream, it's the result of a lot of hard work, research, planning, and community support.  I have learned so much about this business, our community, and my self through this process, and owe a great debt of gratitude to the many people who have helped me along the way.  I could not have gotten here without the advice and support of friends, family, advisers, business connections, and the many resources Durham offers for small businesses.

This page has a lot of "Coming Soon" information, and I truly mean soon.  It is my hope to be able to share my location and start work on renovating the space within the next month.  I can't wait to update you all on the progress of this business and have your input on the creative resources you are most excited for! Thanks for your support; I hope to thank you all in person in the near future!
